The Dew of the Morning: A Reflection on the Ever-Present Goodness of God

There’s something quietly beautiful about early mornings. The world is still, the air feels fresh, and if you step outside, you’ll notice the soft glisten of dew on the grass. Each droplet seems ordinary, yet it carries a profound message a reminder that just as the dew faithfully returns each dawn, the goodness of God is always present, surrounding us even when we don’t notice.

God’s Goodness Is Constant

Just as the dew appears without fail, so does the goodness of God in our lives. It’s not always dramatic or loud. Sometimes it’s in the small things a sunrise after a long night, an encouraging word when your heart is weary, or a door that opens when you thought the way was shut.

Even in seasons when we don’t “feel” His presence, His goodness is still there, quietly working behind the scenes, refreshing our souls the way dew nourishes the earth.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.”

The dew doesn’t just decorate the grass, it nourishes it. Likewise, God’s goodness restores us. When we come to Him tired, broken, or uncertain, He renews us from within. His presence brings peace to anxious hearts and strength to weary souls.

Sometimes we only realize how much we’ve been sustained when we look back and see that, even in the hardest times, His grace carried us through.

Unlike human kindness that can fade or falter, God’s goodness is eternal. It doesn’t depend on our circumstances, our feelings, or even our faithfulness. It is who He is unchanging, pure, and abundant.

When life feels uncertain, we can anchor ourselves in this truth: God is good, and His goodness is not going anywhere.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Let the Dew Remind You

Tomorrow morning, when you see the dew glistening on the grass, take a moment to remember: God’s goodness is just as present quiet, faithful, and refreshing. No matter what today holds, His mercy will meet you there.

So, walk with confidence. The same God who paints the morning with dew surrounds your life with grace. His goodness is not just for a season it’s forever.
